timeghost Time tracking is a time tracking solution for organizations that want to track working time, project time, or both in one application.

Employees can record their time, while teams and organizations can manage projects, analyze recorded time, apply working time requirements, and create reports and exports.

In short

timeghost Time tracking lets your organization track working time, project time, or both. The selected time tracking model determines which features are available in your workspace.

What can timeghost Time tracking be used for?

Depending on your workspace configuration, timeghost Time tracking can be used to:

  • track working time, including working periods and breaks
  • log project time against projects and tasks
  • automatically create working time entries from recorded project time
  • manage projects, tasks, customers, and project members
  • distinguish between billable and non-billable project time
  • analyze recorded time and project data
  • compare actual working time with target hours and maintain time accounts
  • manage absences and working time rules
  • create reports and exports for further processing

The features and navigation areas available to you depend, among other things, on the selected time tracking model and your individual permissions.

Working time and project time in one application

timeghost Time tracking distinguishes between two types of time:

Working time represents when an employee worked. It can be used for target-versus-actual comparisons, time accounts, breaks, working time rules, and absences.

Project time describes what that time was spent on. Entries can be assigned to projects, tasks, customers, labels, and billing information.

Organizations that need both do not have to maintain working time and project time separately. With the Project time with automatic working time model, newly recorded project time automatically creates the corresponding working time entries.

Built for Microsoft 365 environments

timeghost Time tracking integrates with Microsoft 365 and is available through the Microsoft Teams Store.

You can use timeghost directly in Microsoft Teams or in a web browser. The application can also be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA), allowing you to use it on desktop and mobile devices similarly to a standalone application.

This lets each user choose the access method that best fits their workflow.

From time tracking to reporting

Depending on your permissions, recorded time can be used across different areas of timeghost, including:

  • Analytics
  • Team activities
  • Project reports
  • Profitability
  • Time accounts
  • Exports

Administrators, Managers, Financial controllers, supervisors, and users can have different access rights depending on their role and the workspace permissions.

Integrations

timeghost Time tracking can be used together with other services in the Microsoft 365 environment.

For example, the integration with absentify can automatically transfer approved absences to timeghost so they do not have to be entered manually again.

Further integrations and API options are documented in the corresponding sections of this Help Center.
